National Day Parade: Celebrating Kindness and Community Heroes

On August 9, the National Day Parade (NDP) in Singapore will return to the Padang. The show, with the theme "Together, As One United People," will have six parts and will start after a pre-parade segment. One part of the show, called "We Uplift One Another," will focus on Singapore as a caring and compassionate society.

This segment will include performances by 700 members of the Buddhist organization Soka Gakkai Singapore and 234 performers from the non-profit arts group Voices of Singapore.

A short film titled "Care and Compassion," featuring songs and ordinary Singaporeans doing heroic acts to help their community, will be shown. Some of these heroes include a social worker fighting mental health stigma, a singer with neurodiversity and her supportive sister, and a student volunteer who wants to offer humanitarian aid in the future.
