Soldiers don exoskeleton suits, operate automated packing line to prepare 2024 NDP packs

Soldiers are using special robot suits that make them super strong, like superheroes! These suits help them lift heavy boxes easily as they get ready for the big National Day Parade in 2024.

For the first time, the soldiers are wearing these robot suits, called exoskeletons. These suits go on their shoulders and back, helping them lift boxes that weigh between 10kg and 45kg. Private Muhammad Noor Hyder said, “With the exoskeleton, it feels like I’m carrying half the weight of these boxes.”

The exoskeleton works like a harness, making it easier for soldiers to move and keeping their back and joints safe. It helps them stand comfortably and prevents injuries when lifting heavy things.

Besides the exoskeleton suits, the soldiers are also trying out other cool technologies like a better production line and ground robots to help them pack for the parade, said Major Desmond Lim, the leader of the NDP Pack Committee.
